| BIDS FOR BLUES OFFICIAL RULES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS: By participating in the Post-Dispatch “Bids for Blues” auction, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and accept these rules. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reserves the right to update and change these rules from time to time. Bidders must be 18 years of age or older and a United States resident. Winning bidders may be required to show proof of age. Odds of winning depend on the number of bids on any particular auction item. Employees of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Lee Enterprises or the St. Louis Blues are not eligible. The SLPD is the final authority on all issues. All participants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the SLPD. By participating, the entrants agree to release and hold harmless the SLPD as well as any directors, officers or employees or these organizations from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this promotion. Bids will be received via e-mail ONLY. No other forms of bidding will be accepted. E-mail bids to: Contests@post-dispatch.com. Bids will be accepted beginning Friday, January 25 at 6 p.m. through midnight, Sunday, January 27, and again through Friday, February 1 at 6p.m. through midnight, Sunday, February 3. (There will be TWO separate auctions.) Bids received prior to these specified timeframes will NOT be accepted. E-mails must include: the amount of your silent bid, your full name, address, and phone number(s) of where you can be contacted. Only one bidding amount per e-mail will be accepted. In the event of multiple highest bidders, the earliest entry will be awarded the prize. Top bidder will be notified via telephone within 48 hours after the conclusion of auction. Winner must be prepared to pay their winning bids within 48 hours of notification. Payment may be made by MasterCard, Visa or American Express, or by cash or money order that same day. If payment is not verified within this 48 hours timeframe, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reserves the right to offer the prize to the next highest bidder. If an entrant is determined to be the highest bidder, they may not retract their bid and are obligated to make full payment of the total purchase price within the time frame specified above. If the prize is then offered to the next highest bidder, that person may not retract their bid and are obligated to make full payment for the total purchase prize The SLPD is not responsible or its agents or assigns are not responsible for late, lost, damaged, destroyed, incomplete or illegible, misdirected requests and/or bids, or for miscommunications, misdirected transmissions, or any other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic, or for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind including, but not limited to, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software. Proof of sending will not be proof receipt by the newspaper. The newspaper is not responsible for any online, long distance telephone, or other charges you may incur in connection with participating in this auction. All requests become the property of the SLPD and will not be returned to the participant. Odds of winning depend on the number of bids on any particular auction item. All applicable taxes and/or additional expenses associated with the prize are the responsibility of the winning bidder. A prize valued at $600 or more or multiple prizes with values totaling $600 or more require the filing of a 1099 to the IRS and must be claimed on the winner’s income tax statement. This contest void wherever prohibited by state or local laws. By participating, entrants consent to the collection, processing and use of the information provided to the SLPD in conjunction with the Blues for Bids promotion for any purpose it sees fit, including the use of this information for marketing purposes by the SLPD or third party companies and may be provided to third party companies at the sole discretion of the SLPD. Winners allow the SLPD the right to use their name and/or likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation. Employees of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, LLC, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, advertising agencies and their families are not eligible to participate. If for any reason the Bids for Blues program is not capable of being conducted as planned, including any causes beyond the control of the administrators of the Bids for Blues program, the SLPD reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, suspend or terminate the contest without notice to the participants.
